Q. Why is my computer running so slow?

In some cases when a computer is beyond any utility repair Computer Brain can usually backup your important data and reinstall your Windows operating system to get you back to a clean environment again.

Q. What antivirus/firewall software do you recommend?

A. Computer Brain currently uses and recommends Panda Security products. If you are looking for a free alternative AVG Free (free.avg.com) or Microsoft Security Essentials (http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/) are good antivirus only options. These free options do not include any firewall which is very important to use in conjunction with your antivirus program. Windows XP Service Pack 2 and higher, Windows Vista and Windows 7 all include the built in Windows Firewall which is sufficient for most users.

Q. What do you recommend for backing up my data?

A. Computer Brain currently uses and recommends Carbonite online backup software (www.Carbonite.com). This software backs up your data to a remote server which can be restored from any internet connection in the event of data loss. We also recommend the use of a USB external hard drive or Network Accessible Storage (NAS) device for local backups. Ask us about our local backup scripts and tasks we can configure for your individual needs.

Q. Does Computer Brain only work on PC's?

A. Computer Brain specializes in setting up and servicing Windows computers, Apple computers, Audio/Video applications, office networks, remote monitoring and security camera systems.
